# Connect GitHub Copilot

> Add the Juno MCP server to GitHub Copilot in VS Code, Visual Studio, or JetBrains.

<Note>
  On **Copilot Business** and **Copilot Enterprise**, MCP is off until an admin turns on the **MCP servers in Copilot** policy. Individual Copilot plans don't need this.

## VS Code

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add a server">
    Open the Command Palette (<kbd>Cmd/Ctrl</kbd> + <kbd>Shift</kbd> + <kbd>P</kbd>), run **MCP: Add Server**, and choose **Workspace** or **Global**. To edit the file yourself, run **MCP: Open User Configuration** or open `.vscode/mcp.json` in your project.

  <Step title="Add the Juno server">
    Add the following, replacing `<your-workspace>` with your Juno subdomain. VS Code uses `servers` as the top-level key, not `mcpServers`:

  <Step title="Authorize">
    Confirm the trust prompt when VS Code starts the server, then complete the Juno sign-in. Run **MCP: List Servers** to check it's running.

  <Step title="Use it in chat">
    Switch Copilot Chat to **Agent** mode, then use the **Configure Tools** button in the chat box to turn Juno's tools on.

## Visual Studio

Go to **View → GitHub Copilot Chat**, switch to **Agent** mode, select the tools icon, then the plus icon. Fill in the **Configure MCP server** form with the Juno server URL and save.

## JetBrains IDEs

In Copilot Chat, switch to **Agent** mode, select the tools icon, choose **Add MCP Tools**, and add the Juno server to the `mcp.json` file that opens. JetBrains uses the same `mcpServers` shape as most clients:
