Add Juno to ChatGPT so it can search your learning content and build training in a conversation.
In ChatGPT, what you add is a custom app, created from the Plugins area in developer mode. OpenAI renamed this surface in July 2026 — the old Connectors settings page is gone. This works on ChatGPT on the web only, not in the mobile apps.

Before you start

  • Plan. Custom MCP apps with full read and write access are in beta for ChatGPT Business and Enterprise/Edu. Pro accounts can connect an MCP server in developer mode with read-only access.
  • Role. On Business, only Admins and Owners can turn on developer mode and publish apps — and each one turns it on for themselves. On Enterprise/Edu, an admin first grants access under Workspace Settings → Permissions & Roles → Connected Data with the Developer mode / Create custom MCP connectors setting.

Add Juno as a custom app

Turn on developer mode

Open Settings → Security and login → Developer mode. On workspace plans, this setting may instead sit under Settings → Apps → Advanced Settings — both exist, depending on your rollout.

Start a new app

Go to ChatGPT Plugins and select the plus button. Admins and Owners can also use Workspace settings → Apps → Create to build it for the whole workspace.

Name it and enter the Juno server URL

Name it Juno Journey, add a short description, then under Connection paste the Juno MCP server URL, replacing <your-workspace> with your Juno subdomain:
Keep the /mcp path — ChatGPT needs the full endpoint.

Scan the tools and create

Choose OAuth as the authentication mechanism, select Scan Tools, complete the Juno sign-in, then select Create.

Publish it

A new app starts as a draft. An Admin or Owner opens Workspace settings → Apps → Drafts and selects Publish to make it available to the workspace.

Use it in a chat

Turn on Developer mode from the plus menu in the composer, or @-mention the app by name, then ask:
“Find our latest security-awareness course in Juno and draft an announcement for it.”
Where your administrator has turned on the in-app AI assistant buttons, Open in ChatGPT in Juno opens ChatGPT on the web with a ready-made prompt for what you’re working on. ChatGPT fills in the prompt but doesn’t send it, so you send it yourself. Juno also copies the prompt to your clipboard. See Start from inside Juno.
ChatGPT takes a snapshot of Juno’s tools when you create the app — it doesn’t refresh them on its own. When Juno adds capabilities or your admin enables a new one, an admin recreates or refreshes the app to pick them up.
