Insight Dashboards put the numbers you check most on one page: completions over time, who is overdue, who has not opened an assignment. Build a dashboard for one piece of learning, or one for your whole organization, and publish it so other admins can use it.

Where to find dashboards

Every dashboard is private to you until you publish it. Your dashboards are separate for each unit and for the company. Unit dashboards and company dashboards are turned on separately, so your organization may have one without the other.

Company dashboards and Widget Builder

Company dashboards are the new version of Widget Builder. Unit dashboards are new and do not replace anything.

Start a dashboard

When you have no dashboards yet, the tab says No dashboards yet and offers starting points. Preview any of them, then save the one you like to your own dashboards and change it freely.

Suggested starter dashboards

Both the unit and the company tab offer these three. Select Save as mine to copy one, or Start from blank to pick every widget yourself. You can dismiss a suggestion you do not want. Starters stay available from New dashboard after your first one. On a unit, Juno can add a card named Recommended for this unit. Juno files standalone courses and Journeys into one of four categories, and the card matches the category of the unit you are looking at. Select Use this dashboard to keep it, or See it live first to preview it.

Start from what Juno filed

On the company tab, the Start from what Juno filed band offers one ready-made dashboard per category: Onboarding ramp, Compliance watch, Enablement adoption, and Development momentum. Each one counts only the contents Juno filed under that category.
  • Each card shows how many of the contents Juno reviewed were filed there, and how many of them were opened in the last 26 weeks.
  • Juno reviews standalone courses and Journeys. It does not review SCORM, videos, surveys, quizzes, or documents.
  • The list of contents is frozen when you save. Content filed under the category later does not join on its own.
  • A ribbon on the saved dashboard shows how many contents it counts. Select Show the list to search them. When Juno files more contents under the category, the ribbon says how many, and the dashboard owner can select Review to add them.

Build or change a dashboard

1

Open the dashboard

Pick it from the Dashboards bar. Use New dashboard to create another one and give it a name. You can have up to 10 dashboards of your own on each unit, and up to 10 for the company. At the limit, delete one before you create another.
2

Select Customize

Empty slots show Add widget. Hover over a widget for Title and description, Change widget, and Remove widget, and use the size toggle to set it to Small, Medium, or Large.
3

Pick a widget

Choose from Build your own, Ready-made · right now (company dashboards only), or Ready-made · over time.
4

Save

Select Save. Select Cancel to drop your changes. Juno asks before you leave with unsaved changes.
Choose the Timeframe at the top of the dashboard: 12, 26, 52, or 104 weeks. Select Set as default to make the current timeframe the one the dashboard opens with. Widgets in the Ready-made · over time list include Assigned, Started, Completed, Active learners, Failed, Resets, Median days to complete, Avg. quiz score, On-time rate, Overdue & open, and Completion rate. Several come split by department, location, manager, or content, for example Overdue by department or Which contents are furthest behind.

Dashboard options

Open Dashboard options next to Customize to Rename, Duplicate, Unpublish, or Delete a dashboard. Deleting asks you to confirm, and a deleted dashboard cannot be restored.

Build your own widget

Select Learning metric or What people did in the picker. The composer reads as a sentence, and a live preview above it updates as you change each part.

Learning metric

Show me [metric] of [everyone or an audience], [in total or by a split], as [chart].
  • Select everyone in the sentence to narrow the widget to one audience, such as a department or a location. Type in the search box to find one in a long list.
  • Choose how it draws: auto, a KPI tile, a trend line, a snapshot of now, a trend versus everyone, or a trend over time. If a choice does not fit the metric, Juno resets it and tells you why. Select Undo to bring your choice back.
  • Add to dashboard places the widget on the dashboard you are editing. Use Add to to place it on another dashboard instead.
  • The composer notes what a click on the widget will do. Some metrics, such as Resets, Median days to complete, Avg. quiz score, and On-time rate, cannot list the learners behind them.

What people did

Company dashboards only.
Count what happened across your organization, such as budget requests, searches, or content created. The sentence reads Show me [how many] [what happened] [for everyone or where…] [as one number or split by a field]. Beside the live preview, pick a chart: Bars, Columns, Donut, Table, Number, or Trend.

Right now

Company dashboards only.
On a company dashboard, the composer has a This widget answers switch: over time looks across the dashboard timeframe, and right now shows where things stand today. A right-now widget reads Right now, how many learners are [state] on [all contents or these contents] by [split], as [drawing].

Right now widgets

Right now widgets show where learning stands today. They ignore the dashboard timeframe, carry a Right now chip, and show an as of time. The headline counts people, and the line under it counts assignments, one per person per content. Someone who is behind on two contents counts once as a person and twice as assignments. Break any of these down by Content, Department, Location, Manager, or Job title to get a ranked list, for example Overdue right now by Manager. The status bar cannot be split. The picker offers 13 one-click versions, and the composer adds Location, Manager, and Job title. Long lists show the largest groups, and the rest are grouped as Other. Learners with no value for the split appear as, for example, No department.

The population panel

Select a number or a row on a Right now widget to open the Behind this number panel next to your dashboard.
  • It shows how many learners and assignments are behind the number, and which contents they sit on.
  • Select a content to open that content’s Learners tab in a new tab, already filtered to the same group of learners. There you can use the usual bulk actions.
  • Select Open in Learning Activities for the full learner-by-learner list.
  • Drag the panel edge to resize it, and filter the rows by name. Use the back links, such as Back to all contents, to step up a level. Press Escape to close it.

Learners behind a unit chart

On a unit dashboard, select a point on a chart to open a read-only list of the learners behind that number. For most metrics, Juno rebuilds the list from history so it matches the count you clicked. For a few, it shows the learners’ state today instead, and the composer tells you which. Use Previous period and Next period to step through the other periods. Select Open today’s live view to see today’s state in the unit’s Learners tab. A banner there reads Showing learners behind the metric, and Back to all learners returns you to the full table. On company dashboards, an over-time number opens a list of learners only on a dashboard started from Start from what Juno filed, where you go content by content. Right now widgets open the Behind this number panel on any company dashboard.

Share a dashboard

  • Publish makes your dashboard visible to everyone who can open that unit’s analytics, or to every admin who can open company analytics. You can unpublish at any time.
  • You can publish up to 5 dashboards per unit, and up to 5 for the company. At the limit, Publish is disabled until you unpublish another one.
  • People who open a published dashboard see it as read-only, with a Published by banner. They can select Duplicate to edit to get their own copy.
  • Unpublishing or deleting a published dashboard removes it for everyone, including people who pinned it.
  • Only the owner sees Customize and Dashboard options, so only the owner can edit, unpublish, or delete a published dashboard from this page.

Pin a dashboard to the Learners tab

On a unit, a strip at the top of the new Learners table can show one dashboard of your choice. Select Pin a dashboard, then choose from your dashboards and the published ones. Select Collapse to fold the strip away, or Unpin from Learners to remove it. Dashboards › jumps back to the Dashboards tab. If the pinned dashboard is later unpublished or deleted, the strip asks you to pin another.
